Meet Our Camp Staff

Camp Directors

Kristy Wilson

My name is Kristy Wilson and I am so excited to be part of UNC Charlotte’s Camps on Campus as the Program Manager of Youth Programming! I have a background in the traditional K-12 teaching setting, specifically I was a Special Education teacher at the middle school level. I also have an extensive background in summer camps, youth programming and coaching.

I earned my Bachelor of Science and Master's Certificate in  Distance Education Administration and am currently persuing my Master of Arts in Instructional Design from East Carolina University.

One of my favoite parts of camp is watching the education, engagement and personal growth of our campers throughout the summer! We truly have some of the best instructors, counselors and staff out there and I know this will only continue to grow!

Karri Kennedy Hahn

My name is Karri Kennedy and I am proud to have worked for UNC Charlotte for the past 18 years -- seven years as a career advisor for liberal arts, education, and humanities majors with the University Career Center, eleven with Continuing Education as a Program Director for several continuing education certificates, and now serving as Associate Director for Program Management.

I am so proud of the reputation and commitment to excellence that this program demonstrates year after year. I love getting to know the campers and parents each year as well as working with our seasonal staff team who are all SUPER STARS!

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Organizational Communication and my Master of Arts in Student Affairs Administration from Ball State University and completed doctoral coursework and comprehensive examinations in Curriculum and Teaching/Educational Studies from the UNC Greensboro.

I am also a parent and customer the program! My daughter Casie has been Camps on Campus camper since she was a rising 1st grader! I always approach program management with my “parent hat” on including how I approach recruitment and staffing, training, safety procedures, ensuring quality experiential learning, and also encouraging fun and friendships to help our campers create memorable experiences year after year!

Taylor Faulkner

Hi! My name is Taylor Faulkner and I am proud to be a part of Camps on Campus for my 4th summer. I first started as a counselor while I attended UNC Charlotte. The following two summers I came back as lead counselor and have been so grateful to be asked back as Associate Director this summer!

I graduated from UNC Charlotte with a degree in Elementary Education. This fall I will be going into my third year of teaching (my heart and soul) first grade. I am passionate about working with students and their families. I am from the beautiful mountains of NC. In my free time I enjoy cooking, watching Netflix, being outdoors, and relaxing.

I look forward to working with you and your family this summer. Go Niners!

Tiffany Carter

My name is Tiffany Carter, and I am looking forward to another fun summer ahead with UNC Charlotte’s Camps on Campus! I have been apart of the leadership team for the last three summers, serving in different capacities. I began working with the program as the Afternoon Coordinator, and after my first summer, I accepted a promotion, becoming the Associate Director of Operations. During the summer, I also find time to instruct some of our course offerings, such as Keyboarding 101 and Adulting. I enjoy working with Camps on Campus because it allows me to engage with our campers while exploring their interests.

I graduated from Appalachian State University with a BS in Middle Grades Science and Social Studies Education, and I currently teach science at Community House Middle School in Ballantyne. I am my school’s Science Fair Coordinator, and I love scientific exploration and research. Camps on Campus is such a fantastic program. The opportunities it provides to campers are invaluable, so I’ve partnered with my school to sponsor our student researchers. Our grand prize for winning the Science and Engineering Fair is a fully funded week of summer camp with Camps on Campus. The exposure to a college campus and selecting a camp of choice motivates my students to engage in exemplary scientific research.

In my free time, I enjoy traveling and exploring the outdoors. I grew up near the coast, so I love spending time at the beach with a good book! I cannot wait to begin another fun and engaging summer with our campers.
