My name is Karri Kennedy and I am proud to have worked for UNC Charlotte for the past 15 years--seven years as a career advisor for liberal arts, education, and humanities majors with the University Career Center, and the past eight with Extended Academic Programs as a Program Director for several continuing education certificates. I have directed Camps on Campus since Summer 2014 and am so proud of the reputation and commitment to excellence that this program demonstrates year after year. I love getting to know the campers and parents each year as well as working with our seasonal staff team who are all SUPER STARS!
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Organizational Communication and my Master of Arts in Student Affairs Administration from Ball State University and completed doctoral coursework and comprehensive examinations in Curriculum and Teaching/Educational Studies from the UNC Greensboro.
I am not only the Camps on Campus Program Director but I am also a parent and customer the program! My daughter Casie has been Camps on Campus camper since she was a rising 1st grader! I always approach program management with my “parent hat” on including how I approach recruitment and staffing, training, safety procedures, ensuring quality experiential learning, and also encouraging fun and friendships to help our campers create memorable experiences year after year!
My name is Brittany Stowell and I am a native of North Carolina. I grew up in Garner, NC, just outside of Raleigh, and currently live with my husband and puppy, Mr. Wuf, in Indian Trail. I am a North Carolina State University graduate and majored in English Education. My husband and I are HUGE NC State fans! I teach English in Union County Public Schools and LOVE teaching! Growing up, I worked as a pool manager and lifeguard during my summer breaks and so joining Camps on Campus as the Assistant Director of Operations in 2014 was a great opportunity to work with kids of all ages again!
