Dining and Lunch Information

We are excited once again to partner with UNC Charlotte Dining Services and Crown Commons to offer parents an option to purchase a $35.75 weekly meal plan with each camp registration that is convenient and tax-free. The meal plan was extremely popular last year and many parents chose to add meal plans for their camper as the summer went on. Campers may also choose to pack their lunch each day and we have supervised seating and dining areas for those campers as well!

General Lunch Information:

  • DiningCampers' lunch hour will begin between 11:45am-12:15pm and all campers will eat at the UNC Charlotte Student Union unless otherwise noted.
  • Campers may choose to bring a packed lunch OR take advantage of purchasing a discounted and tax free weekly meal plan when registering for camp.
  • There will NOT be the option to purchase lunch with cash from the retail food courts. However students may bring cash for purchasing snacks from vending machines.

Meal Plan Information:

  • This is a significantly lower price than the average amount spent by campers at our retail food courts and eliminates the hassle of sending cash with your child each day.
  • If purchasing a weekly meal plan, you must select the option at the time of camp registration.
  • Once a meal plan is purchased cannot be refunded.
  • Crown Commons offers an array of options including a salad bar, home-style meal buffet, pizza, and grill as well as a soft-serve ice cream station!
  • View a Sample Menu of what Crown Commons offers!
Meal Plan Benefits:
  • A flat, tax-free price for the Crown Commons dining room that averages to only $7.15/day!
  • Unlimited food and variety--Crown Commons boasts four different buffet areas including homestyle meals, soup, sandwich, and salad buffet, pizza, desserts and more
  • The convenience of not having to pack a lunch or money each day

Packed Lunch Information:

  • Parents may back a bagged lunch daily rather than purchase the weekly meal plan.
  • The camper's name must be labeled on the lunch box or bag
  • Due to airborne allergies to nut products, Camps on Campus does not permit any food items to be bought or purchased that contain any kind of nut.
  • Campers bringing their lunch will be seated and supervised in the 1st floor food court area of the UNC Charlotte Student Union.

 Snack Information:

  • We recommend packing 1-2 snacks for your camper each day (especially for Cool School-Grades 1-4).
  • Campers will also have the opportunity to purchase snacks from vending machines if they brought cash.
  • Due to airborne allergies to nut products, Camps on Campus does not permit any food items to be bought or purchased that contain any kind of nut.

Please note we do not allow cash purchases and retail dining purchases during lunch time--campers must either have a weekly meal plan or bring their lunch. Please see our FAQs for more information.
